If an Ipod Touch app is free then why do they need credit card information?
It keeps saying I need to go on my computer and confirm my information

iTunes need an account to link your app to.
Detailed answer:
Your iPod, unless jailbroken, needs *every* app to be signed by Apple, Your Apple ID is required to sign the app.
