How to convince people to sign up for the old navy credit card?
I’m an employee at old navy and i have to try to convince the customers to apply for the credit card. I have to reach a goal of at least 5 credit cards a week. So far i’ve only got about 2 or 3 a week. Can someone help me?
The benefits are that you get 10% discount every time you shop at old navy, gap and banana republic. Also, we have special events and discounts on tuesdays and thursdays for our card members, you get 5 points for $1 you spent, 1 point per every $1 you spent anywhere else w/ our visa credit card and a $10 reward card when you reach 1,500 points.
You gotta get your facts right before you start explaining benefits of the ONC. None of what you said is correct, so you better ask your manager or another associate for some help.
- customers do NOT get a discount every time they use the card. The customer gets 10% off their 1st purchase when they are approved for the card, and they get a set of 10% off coupons for their next purchase at ON, Gap, BR, and online.
- customers get 10% off for using their brand credit card (ON, GAP, or BR card) on Tuesdays only, not on Thursdays.
- you are not supposed to talk about the benefits of the Visa card until AFTER the customer has been approved for the Visa.
- $10 reward cards are earned after reaching 1000 points, not 1500. Purchases within the Gap Inc brands and online earn 5 points per dollar. That’s $10 bucks back for every $200 spent. You should only explain the 1 point per $1 for the Visa after the customer has been approved for the Visa, otherwise dont bring it up.
Anyways, to answer your question on how to get more cards, it’s just a matter of being comfortable with explaining the benefits. Work it into a conversation, not a robotic speech. The more discounts you mention, the more the customer will be interested.
